Sports Umpires - Expressions of Interest

We are seeking expressions of interest for dedicated individuals to join us as Umpires on a casual basis at the Cannington Leisureplex to oversee the following sports:
- Indoor Soccer;
- Basketball; and
- Other indoor court based sports.

The role reports to the Supervisor Health & Wellness and will be responsible for ensuring accurate, high quality umpiring and provision of competitive games in the competition; by maintaining your knowledge of the sport, ensuring players are ready and eligible to play and payment has been received. The successful applicant will maintain the highest level of customer service to ensure all players and spectators are provided with an enjoyable match experience.

The roles we have available are casual in nature, and if successful, you may be assigned to particular hours. The start and finish times may vary depending on the type of sport and number of games.
- Gym memberships available
- $17.46 - $25.62 per game + 25% casual loading + 10.5% super
Applicants will have a genuine interest and a strong knowledge of the rules of their nominated sport. Relevant qualification or extensive experience in umpiring is required, including building a good rapport with players, and spectators, with the ability to handle difficult players and situations and resolve conflicts if necessary. The successful applicant will have a current satisfactory National Police Clearance and have the ability to pass any necessary umpire test. They will enjoy working in a collaborative recreation team environment and have an excellent work ethic and dedication to providing a positive experience for all.
