Assistant Youth Worker

The role reports to the Leader Youth Development and Programming and will provide support to the Community Youth Workers and Youth Development Officer to deliver and implement a range of services that support, empower, welcome and make a difference to the diverse young people within the City. The role mainly supports the delivery of support, activities, programs and engagement from the City's three Youth Centres during "drop-in" times, though also may involve outreach and delivery in other locations and programs as directed.

- $22.85 per hour + 25% casual loading + 10.5% super
Applicants will have, or be working towards, a qualification in Youth Work or similar Human Services field, as well as a current Working with Children Check and current satisfactory National Police Clearance. The right applicant for the role will have a genuine passion for and experience working with a diverse range of young people including youth at risk to provide them with suitable support, information and learning and capacity building activities. They will have demonstrated experience in delivering a range of youth activities and/or programs; enjoy working in a collaborative team setting; have good communication and interpersonal skills and an excellent work ethic. They will be able to work flexible hours including weekdays and evenings, Friday nights and occasional weekends.
