Cultural Development Officer

The City of Canning has an exciting opportunity for a Cultural Development Officer on a temporary, full time basis.

The role reports to the Leader Community Connections & Learning and will be responsible for delivering outcomes from the City's Reconciliation Action Plan and Learning City Strategy and identifying programs aimed at engaging and connecting all community members from all backgrounds. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work with all areas of Council, as well as government and non-government organisations, community networks and agencies, service providers, cultural institutions, the arts, sporting groups, businesses and other groups within the City to deliver the Reconciliation Action Plan and the Learning City Strategy.

  • $77,090 - $84,122 per annum + 10.5% super

Applicants will have a tertiary qualification in Community Development or Human Services or similar field, as well as a current satisfactory National Police Clearance. The right applicant for the role will have a minimum of 3 years' experience and high performance in a similar role, including experience building community relationships and capacity, and working with communities from a culturally and linguistically diverse background. They will have excellent communication and report writing skills, the ability to prioritise tasks and coordinate priorities, as well as have an excellent work ethic.
