Strategic Waste Officer

The City of Canning has an exciting opportunity for a motivated and dedicated Strategic Waste Officer to provide technical support to the waste reduction delivery process on a permanent, full time basis.

This role is responsible for finalising and implementing the Strategic Waste Management Plan, providing expert technical support to the Waste Reduction team and the wider organisation, procuring services and managing contracts, and delivering waste related innovation projects and initiatives.

To be successful, you will have a tertiary qualification in Environmental Health, Engineering or similar, combined with a minimum of six years' experience within the waste management area, including in the delivery of waste reduction strategies and specification writing, tendering procedures, contract administration and budget control. The right applicant for the role will be a strong communicator, with strong project management capability and a strong work ethic.
